Confidentiality

Treatment is confidential. Everything that the client shares in the course of a session remains confidential except for the following exceptions: if the client signs a release enabling the therapist to release certain information to a particular party, if client expresses the desire to harm him or herself or others, if there is any suspicion by the therapist that a child, elderly person, or handicapped person is being abused, in the event of a court order, or in defense of a legal action or complaint made by client before a regulatory board. Certain information might also be shared with this therapist's supervisor. However, client's name and any other revealing information would remain confidential.
